Caring for your Candle

Please read the below to find out how to care for and get the most out of your Cushla & Co candle.  

 

• ​When lighting for the first time, burn the candle until the wax melts across the entire surface to the sides of jar. This prevents tunneling and creates an even burn pool for the duration of the candles life. This may take up to 2-4 hours.​

• Burn your candle in a draft free area, clear of flammable objects.

​

• Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. 

​

• Always trim the wick before each use. This helps to prevent smoke and stops the wick turning a 'mushroom' shape.

​

• It is very important to burn the candle until the waxpool reaches the edge of the glass. This helps the candle to form a 'memory' and to ensure the candle burns evenly and flat each time it is lit.

​

• If soot forms on the inside of jar, extinguish the candle, wait for it to cool, then wipe with a clean damp cloth or paper towel. Relight.

​

• Keep your candle out of reach of children and pets, and do not move it whilst in use. Burn your candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface.

​

• Do not use the lid to extinguish the candle. 

​

• Do not leave a burning candle unattended.
